Questcor Provides Donation In Support Of Children's Hospital & Research Center Oakland

HAYWARD, Calif., Dec. 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Questcor Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: QCOR) today announced that it has made a $25,000 donation to the Children's Hospital & Research Center Oakland in support of the Early Intervention Services program.

Children's Hospital & Research Center Oakland is a premier, not-for-profit medical center for children in Northern California, and is the only hospital in the East Bay that is 100% devoted to pediatrics. Their Early Intervention Services program supports the well-being, development and caregiving relationships of infants and young children (up to age 6) who have developmental, social-emotional and medically related vulnerabilities or disabilities.

"Questcor is committed to giving back to our local community," said Steve Cartt, Chief Operating Officer for Questcor. "We feel privileged to be able to support such a worthy institution, particularly one that is funded solely by grants and charitable contributions. Our hope is that these funds will help improve the quality of life for some Bay Area children who are in need."

In addition to the financial contribution, Mr. Cartt noted that Questcor employees in Hayward created get well cards for children being treated at the hospital. These cards are distributed to children on their lunch trays. "In addition to the donation, we wanted to find a way to more personally connect with the children and their families, especially during the holiday season," Mr. Cartt said. "This seemed to be a great way to do it."

Susan Greenwald, Director of Early Intervention Services, shared, "We're grateful for Questcor's generous donation and look forward to putting the money to good use serving children and families. We also appreciate the time and effort Questcor employees gave to produce beautiful get-well cards. I know they will help lift the spirits of our courageous young patients."
